Yay, it's Manicure Monday! I love setting aside a little "me time" to paint my nails...it is so relaxing to me and I love putting on a new color each week. I always think to myself "Jenny, no one cares what nail polish you are wearing"...this is probably true, but it gives me an excuse to give myself a manicure!
Today I am wearing "Modern Love" from Deborah Lippmann. It's a nice mauve-colored creme polish, with great opacity (I'm wearing two coats in the pictures). To be completely honest, I thought I hated it when I saw it in the bottle. Nude nails don't look great with my skin tone, so I was pretty skeptical...but the color wasn't actually that bad once it was on! It's not my favorite, but it's definitely growing on me!
What do you think about nude nail polish?

Psh! I care what nail polish you are wearing!! When the nails are done, I feel more put together. Weird how that works out, huh?
ReplyDeleteHave you tried out the Sensationail Home Gel Nail kit? It is seriously THE BOMB. They just came out with a French Manicure gel kit, so stoked! The nail job stays on for two weeks and doesn't chip, so cool.

Thanks Bri! I should try that out. I do like the idea of it staying put and not chipping for 2 weeks, but the problem is I get bored with nail color after a week anyway, haha. That's why I never go get my nails done at the salon...I can't commit to one color :)

ReplyDeleteI love that color - and your nails are always so perfect! I like nudes, but certain shades of nude look better than others on me (I think I like the cooler shades of nude)
ReplyDeleteI don't know about perfect, haha. They are always breaking and chipping, it's so frustrating...I just wish they would grow long! But thank you Kelly...and I definitely agree with you about certain shades looking better than others :)

ReplyDeleteYes, it totally would! I wouldn't wear it for a Girls Night Out or something, but it's nice for when you want to look simple and classy :)
DeleteI've never really tried nude nail polish... I did just pin an idea where the nails are all painted black and have a nude painted accent nail to offset the dark... I liked that look. ;)
