How classy are polka dots?  I mean, really...they are so simple, yet they somehow make you look more put together.  It's weird how this outfit makes me feel dressed up, but I'm wearing jeans...it's those magical polka dots, I tell ya!

Right now I'm just counting down the days until Emery and I head to Paris.  We went a few years ago, but we only had 2 days there and we were both sick the whole time.  Although we still had a blast, we can't wait to experience more of what beautiful Paris has to offer (and hopefully we don't get sick this time!).

Hope you all have a great week!

Outfit Link Up, Maxi Dress Inspiration

Happy Sunday everyone! It's especially happy for me, because it's my birthday!! DIY Floral Nail Art

DIY Floral Nails, Floral Manicure, Nail Art Tutorial

It's been far too long since I've done any nail art...I forgot how much I love it!  Today, I wanted to share my super easy floral manicure, which I created using the new Triple Shine nail polish that Sally Hansen sent me to try out.  This floral nail art is perfect for those of us who aren't the best artists, because it's supposed to look a little abstract and the imperfections just add to the character!

I love that this new Sally Hansen formula is super shiny and super opaque...I don't know about you, but I just don't have time for lots of coats! And aren't these bright colors so perfect for Spring and Summer? There are 29 Triple Shine shades and now I'm pretty sure I need to head to the store and get some more!

Also, if you have a second...I'd really appreciate your vote in this contest.  I'm ahead right now, but I still need all the support I can get...it only takes ONE CLICK! Thanks friends!

I think my need for a tropical vacation is starting to kick in, because I can't stop wearing this Hawaiian shirt lately!  A little while back, I shared a fun dressy look with the same shirt (you can check that out here), but today I wanted to show you a more casual option.  The whole outfit actually started with these great wedges that OnlineShoes.com sent me.  I absolutely love the bright coral color and I knew they would be perfect with my tropical shirt!

Three other fabulous bloggers were sent the same wedges and we are competing in a contest to see who styled their pair the best.  If you have a second, I would LOOOOOVE if you could vote for my Online Shoes look! It literally only takes one click and it would mean the world to me!  Plus, you have the option of entering your e-mail address when you vote, which will enter you in a drawing to win your own pair of Rockport shoes!

Florals, Stripes and a Happy Closet

Easy Outfit, OOTD, Spring Style, Boden, GiGi New York, Stripes, Hair scarf, Fashion Blogger
Striped Tee: c/o Boden, Sandals: Target, Bag: c/o GiGi New York, Scarf: c/o Boden

I love incorporating color into my wardrobe, which you probably already know if you read this blog!  Spring is the perfect time to start making my closet fun again and Boden is helping me to do just that, with the addition of a few colorful pieces from their latest collection.  The striped tee I'm wearing comes in 8 colors and I may have ordered 3 of them....I couldn't help it!  They are so perfect, because they are a classic pattern and I know I'll be able to wear them with almost anything!  So, be prepared to see a lot of stripes on this blog in the future.

This floral scarf is another amazing Boden item that I'm obsessed with.  I've mostly worn it around my neck, but I thought it would be fun to try out the headscarf look that's so popular right now.  What do you think? One of my friends told me I look like the Chiquita banana lady...so, yeah...I'm not 100% sure yet.

Also, can we talk about how I've always been scared of pattern-mixing?  Florals and stripes is one of my favorite combos on other people, but I've simply never thought I could pull it off.  If you are a scaredy-cat like me, try wearing a floral scarf with a striped top (or vice versa).  Then you can work your way up to mixing main pieces, such as this skirt with this shirt, or these pants with this top.  Boden makes it easy to fill your closet with fun, but most importantly WEARABLE clothing that is made to last...I'm sure I'll be back for more items from this great British brand!

Lunar Eclipse (AKA Blood Moon)

Last night I stayed up late to witness the total lunar eclipse, which happens when the moon becomes covered by the Earth's shadow.  The moon doesn't go completely dark, but instead takes on a reddish glow, causing some people to call it a "Blood Moon".  There will be four consecutive total lunar eclipses happening through September 2015, which scientists call a tetrad.  Apparently tetrads are pretty rare occurrences and the next set won't happen until 2032.

I was so glad we had a clear sky to see the eclipse take place.  It was fun to bring out my tripod and try to get some shots with my telephoto lens.  I'll admit that I had no idea what I was doing, but after experimenting a bit I was able to get a few good shots.  Unfortunately, my camera battery died right before the moon was totally covered (just my luck), but that gives me more incentive to stay up late for the next one in October!

Did any of you stay up late to check out the Blood Moon?

Sunday Style: Black and White

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but last week there were quite a few black and white outfits.  This is obviously a very classic combination, but what I love is the way these ladies mixed different prints and textures to spice things up a bit!

I'm not even sure which of these looks I like the best...they are each so unique and fun!  But now it's time for another week of Sunday Style and I'm excited to see what you all have to share. As always, here are the rules:

1. Add the link to your specific outfit post, not your main blog page.
2. Grab a button and add it to your post (a text link is also fine).

From "Run Style" to "Fun Style"

As a busy working mom, it can be hard for me to juggle everything.  Don't get me wrong...I love my life and I'm definitely not complaining about my packed schedule.  However, I really appreciate when my clothes can do some of the multi-tasking for me!  These Athleta pants, for example, make it easy to go from a run with my dog to a fun day of playing in the sunshine with my kids.

Pants: c/o Athleta, Tank: Old Navy, Chambray Shirt: Old Navy, Shoes: Converse, Hat: Target, Sunglasses: H&M

Athleta's new City Pants collection features several great styles that will take you from fit style to street style in a matter of seconds.  I chose the Aspire Ankle pant, because I knew the design would make it super easy to wear them for all types of occasions!  The gym, the park, a lunch date, shopping, hiking...these pants are so versatile.  Just throw a shirt on over your workout tank, add a hat to cover up your sweaty hair, and no one will even know you just got done exercising!  Oh, and I can't get over how comfortable these pants are. SO COMFY.

Neon and Chambray

Skirt: c/o Lulu's (also in red and peach), Shirt: Old Navy, Shoes: Target (very similar), Bag: Tory Burch, Watch: Nixon c/o WatchCo, Gold Spike Bracelet: c/o Sira & Mara, Braided Bracelet: c/o Ettika, Sunglasses: Target

This outfit includes two of my favorite things: Neon and Chambray.  Honestly, back when denim shirts started becoming popular I was really hesitant to hop on board that bandwagon.  They reminded me of something my Dad would wear and I just didn't get it.  Now I can't seem to go longer than a week without wearing mine!  If I can't figure out what to wear with a skirt or pants, out comes the chambray...it goes with almost anything!  And I just love the bright, happy neon colors.  This skirt from Lulu's is so fun and I love that the style gives a bit of a retro vibe, while the hot pink color gives it a modern feel.

I hope you are all having a happy Monday!

Sunday Style Link-Up: Simple Stripes

Stripes are one of the few patterns that will always be a classic and can be worn a billion different ways!  When I spotted these perfect stripey ensembles in last week's link-up, I just knew I had to feature them...

Don't you just love stripes?  So easy to wear and they always look so good...I need more in my closet immediately!

Ok, now let's see those outfits! As always, here are the rules:

1. Add the link to your specific outfit post, not your main blog page.
2. Grab a button and add it to your post (a text link is also fine).
3. Comment on this post and someone else's post...the whole point is to visit each other.
