Time to get fit.

I'm not even going to sugarcoat it: I've gained quite a bit of weight this past year (which is probably why I haven't done many outfit posts).  But I've decided it's time to take back my life and get in shape!  One thing that can be hard for me is finding time to exercise while I'm working.  Thanks to Intel, I now have a fantastic device that I can take with me on my work trips!  My Intel 2in1 makes it super easy to fit in a quick workout right in my hotel room...I just easily switch my device from laptop to tablet mode, pick out a workout video on YouTube and voila!

Since I've always had a hard time sticking with a diet and fitness plan, my sister and I came up with a little competition to help keep us motivated.  Whoever loses the most body fat (we don't want to focus only on pounds) at the end of 30 days will win.  I plan on using my Intel device to help me find lots of easy, healthy recipes!  Anyone have any tips for staying healthy on a busy schedule?  I'd love to hear your ideas!

Everyday Earrings Giveaway with JTV!

Skirt: Mikarose, Top: Wallis (old, similar), Bag: Givenchy, Watch: Nixon, Earrings: c/o JTV

My ears have always been super sensitive, so it's hard for me to find a pair of earrings that I can feel comfortable wearing all day long.  As much as I love the big and flashy earrings, my ears just can't take the weight of them.  So basically I'm always on the hunt for the perfect, simple, lightweight pair...and I think I found them!  My friends over at JTV sent me a pair of their gorgeous earrings to try out and I was not disappointed one bit!  These 14k gold white zircon earrings never irritate my ears and I can barely even tell I'm wearing them (which is a big deal for me).  I love the classy look of the 3 stones and they are so sparkly!  The best part about these earrings is I can actually wear them to work (my job is really strict about what jewelry we can and can't wear).

I'm so excited that one of you lucky readers will be getting this perfect pair of everyday earrings for yourself!  To enter, you must do TWO things:

1. Follow both @jennywinward and @JTV on Instagram.
2. Since Thanksgiving is tomorrow, leave a comment below telling me what you are thankful for and an e-mail address to get in contact with you if you win!

This giveaway is only open to U.S. readers and will run through December 2nd.  Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving!

Halloween 2015: Minions!

I figured it was time to break my blogging silence and I can't think of a better time than my favorite holiday...Halloween! As you may or may not already know, we are one of those cheesy families that like to dress up together in themed costumes (see here, here, or here). This year we decided to go as characters from Despicable Me...Gru and his Minions!

I procrastinated big time this year, so I needed costumes that were somewhat simple.  For the Minions, all I really needed to find were overalls, t-shirts, beanies and gloves. The hardest part was making the goggles (they are made out of PVC pipe, elastic and spraypaint), but I think they turned out pretty decent.  The Gru costume was super easy, because we already had a black jacket and black pants.  I found the striped scarf at Kohls and the mask at a Halloween store.  Emery was just happy that his costume was so easy this year!  My favorite is probably the evil purple minion...even though it took a half bottle of conditioner to un-tease that crazy hair!

P.S. Does anyone else charge their kids a "candy tax" or am I just a horrible mother?

Travel Style: Kimono, Loafers and Jeans.

Kimono: c/o Lulu's, Tee: Target, Jeans: Hudson via Nordstrom Rack, Sunglasses: Target, Shoes: c/o Rockport

When I'm traveling, I like to keep my outfits pretty simple and the most important thing to me is comfort.  Especially when it comes to the shoes!  Luckily, Rockport asked me to participate in another Rockport Challenge, just in time for my trip to London.  The objective was to style their Cambridge Blvd Penny Moccasins for a "Warm Weather Adventure" and I knew exactly what outfit I was going to put together!

Kimonos are one of my favorite items to wear on vacation...you can throw them on over a basic t-shirt and instantly add some extra pizazz to your outfit.  This Lulu's kimono is perfect, because it's really lightweight, it has a gorgeous lace pattern and the tassels at the bottom are a fun little detail!  Lulu's always has the cutest kimonos...I want them all!  It was a little windy on this particular day, so I opted for a pair of jeans.  However, kimonos also look great with shorts, especially on those extra warm days!

My Rockport moccasins kept my feet pain-free throughout a full day of exploring the English countryside.  I never thought I would wear this style of shoe, because I always thought they looked funny on me...but now that I've finally worn them, I see how they can be styled so many different ways!  What are your thoughts on moccasins? Would you wear this warm weather look?  Rockport would love for you to share your own warm weather adventures on Instagram using #mydailyadventure and #poweredbyrockport!

England, Day One: St. Paul's Cathedral, the London Eye, and Wicked.

After a day full of flying, we arrived at our first hotel of the trip, the Flemings Mayfair.  We only had enough time to drop off our bags and freshen up, then it was off to our first destination of the day: St Paul's Cathedral.  The cathedral is gorgeous, both outside and inside (pictures of the interior aren't allowed), but my favorite part was climbing the 528 steps to the top of the dome and looking out at the city.  I may have almost died of exhaustion, but the views were definitely worth it!

Next we hopped on our bus and made our way over to the London Eye.  This giant observation wheel is 135 meters high and has 32 viewing capsules, each holding about 25 people.  The wheel slowly rotates, taking 30 minutes to complete the full rotation, which is nice because you have plenty of time to enjoy the amazing views and take lots of pictures (although the glass reflections make photography a little challenging).

We ended our first day by going to see a musical on the West End.  We decided to get tickets for Wicked, since I found some cheap "obstructed view" seats online.  I'm so happy I bought them, because we were so close to the stage and we could see almost everything.  I'd never seen Wicked before (crazy, I know) and it was so good...it was definitely a highlight of my trip!!  Emery may have fallen asleep a couple times in the theatre, but to be fair we did have a really long day and he was pretty jet-lagged.

I haven't been able to update my blog as frequently as I'd like, because we are currently dealing with the stress of selling our house, buying a new one and packing up our stuff...moving is not fun, folks!  We are getting excited for our new adventure though.  Wish me luck!

Lovely in Lulu's: London Blues.

Maxi Dress: Lulu's c/o, Jean Jacket: Old Navy, Shoes: Birkenstock, Bag: Kate Spade (similar), Sunglasses: Target

I'm so excited to start posting some photos from my trip to London.  Today I'm sharing one of the outfits I wore on my trip, featuring this beautiful blue and white maxi dress from my favorite online boutique...Lulus.com!  It was probably my favorite item of clothing during the trip, because it was so comfortable and cute!  I was even able to get away with wearing my Birkenstock sandals with this dress, so that's definitely a plus...there is nothing worse than trying to explore a fun new place in uncomfortable shoes.

These photos were taken at two landmarks we visited: Windsor Castle and Hampton Court.  I'll go into more detail about those places later, but let's just say they were both gorgeous locations!

More London pictures are coming soon!

A New Adventure.

Image via Pinterest

The past 10 years have been pretty good to me.  I moved from Portland, Oregon to Logan, Utah.  I attended school at Utah State University, where I met Emery.  We got married in the Logan LDS temple.  We moved to Lehi, Utah and bought our first house.  We had two beautiful children.  I began my career as a flight attendant.  I started this blog.  I made some great friends.

At first, I hated living in Utah.  The winters were cold, people seemed a little too judgmental, and there just wasn't the diversity I had known back in Oregon.  But over time I grew to love it.  It's safe, which is a big deal when you have kids.  Most people are really friendly.  It's a fairly inexpensive place to live.  And the best part, in my opinion...the mountains.  Oh, how I'll miss hiking in the gorgeous Utah mountains.

But, it's time for a new adventure.  It's time to start over somewhere new.

At the beginning of August my family will be packing up our lives, jumping in the car and driving 1250 miles to our new home: Minneapolis, Minnesota.  That's right, I'm headed to the land of 10,000 lakes.  Home to the Mall of America, numerous professional sports teams, funny accents, and below freezing temperatures.

If anyone has any experience living in the Twin Cities area I would love to hear your thoughts.  I've been trying to research the best places to live and it's a little overwhelming.  I'd love to live in an old historic home in Southwest Minneapolis, but unfortunately I think that's a bit out of our price range.  Emery will be working in Woodbury, which looks like it could be a nice place to live, with great schools for the kids.  It's all so overwhelming, but I'm sure it will all work out.  It's certainly going to be an adjustment, but I'm excited for the change!

Mother's Day Giveaway with JTV!

My Mom and I have always been very close.  As long as I can remember, I've been able to tell her everything and I always knew she would be there for me, no matter what.  She was willing to make so many sacrifices for her children and I never truly appreciated all that my mom did for me until I had my own kids.  I guess it's hard to really comprehend the love a mother has for her children until you experience it yourself.  I'm so grateful that I was blessed to be raised by such a caring, smart, beautiful, strong and loving woman.  I love you Mom.
