Sweater, Leather and the Sunday Style link-up!

Embellished Sweater: Old Navy, Chambray Shirt: Kohls, Leather Leggings: c/o Warehouse, Leopard Heels: Target, Bag: Kate Spade, Bracelets: Kohls, Sunglasses: Target

Happy Sunday everyone!  Today was my fourth day of the 7x7Remix Challenge.  It was the perfect weather for layering, so I opted for the polka dot sweater over my chambray shirt.  The faux leather leggings are also making an appearance again.  I'm not sure how I feel about this outfit.  I like the top half, but I think it would look a lot better with a pair of jeans.  Oh well, that's what is kind of fun about this challenge...you try to put together outfits with only a few pieces and it helps you to get a better idea of what works and what doesn't.

In other news...it's Sunday Style time!  I loved looking through the outfits from last week and it gave me so many ideas!  I can't wait to see what all of you link up this week...as always, here are the rules:
1. Add the link to your specific outfit post, not your main blog page.
2. Grab a button and add it to your post (a text link is also fine).
3. Try to comment on this post and someone else's post...the whole point is to visit each other.
4. Follow my blog, so you can be reminded to link up next time!

Flannel and Jeans

Jeans: Paige Denim, Men's Flannel Shirt: Kohls (love this one), Bag: Rebecca Minkoff, Shoes: c/o MyHotShoes (similar), Necklace: Target

One of my favorite outfit combinations is a plaid flannel shirt with a pair of jeans.  It's just so laid back and comfortable...plus it reminds me of home (flannels used to be pretty popular in the Pacific Northwest).  This is my third outfit for the 7x7 Remix challenge and it's my favorite so far, mostly because of the cozy factor.  If you are participating in the challenge you will be able to link up starting on Wednesday...I can't wait to see how everyone did and what they wore!

Boom!

Boom Sweatshirt: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target, Leather Leggings: c/o Warehouse, Shoes: Target, Bag: Kate Spade, Necklace: Lonna & Lilly, Lipstick: MAC Ruby Woo

This was my outfit for day 2 of the 7x7 Remix Challenge and I was so excited to put on these faux leather leggings from Warehouse. I wouldn't consider myself "edgy" by any means, but these leggings, combined with my super fun "Boom" sweater, definitely made me feel more exciting than usual! This sweatshirt was my favorite piece from the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collaboration and I'm so glad I was able to snatch one up before they sold out.  Did you purchase anything from the collection?

So far I haven't worn any of my 7 pieces twice, but don't worry...the actual "remixing" will begin tomorrow!

Jeans and chambray, with a touch of lace.

Jeans: Paige Denim Verdugo Skinny, Lace Tank: LC Lauren Conrad (similar), Chambray Shirt: Kohls, Bag: Phillip Lim for Target, Shoes: c/o MyHotShoes (similar), Necklace: LC Lauren Conrad, Watch: Nixon c/o WatchCo, Hat: Target

Today was the first day of the 7x7 Remix and this was my first outfit for the challenge.  I decided to go with a denim on denim look, with a little bit of lace.  Oh, and I found this hat at Target and it might be my new favorite thing.  It kind of reminds me of something an old man would wear, but I don't care...I love it!

I can't wait to share my other outfits using the 7 pieces I picked out.  I hope some of you will participate in this challenge, because it's so fun!

7x7 Remix!

I'm so excited to be participating in a fun little collaboration with a few other fabulous bloggers...it's called the 7x7 Remix! The idea is to pick 7 pieces from your closet and mix them up into 7 different outfits...super fun, right?!

Natalia // Me // Carly // Alissa // Agi

Here are the “rules” if you want to join in...
  • Choose 7 articles of clothing from your closet.
  • Shoes, accessories, and jewelry don’t count.
  • Create 7 different outfits, with the main pieces being the 7 you chose.
  • Create a blog post featuring said outfits and be sure to include the super awesome button below.
  • Come back next week to link up your blog post!
  • Use the hastag #7x7Remix to connect with others taking the challenge! Blogger or not, you can definitely participate!

I hope you will all participate with us!  I think it's important to really use the clothing you already have by wearing it in different ways...although it can definitely be a challenge sometimes!  Here are the pieces I chose:

1. Faux Leather Leggings: c/o Warehouse
2. Lace Tank: Kohls (similar)
3. Plaid Flannel Shirt: Kohls Mens (love this one)
4. Jeans: Paige Denim Verdugo Skinny
5. Boom Sweatshirt: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target
6. Embellished Sweatshirt: Old Navy
7. Chambray Shirt: Kohls

So...do you accept the challenge?  I can't wait to see what pieces everyone chooses and how they end up styling them!

Tie-Dye

Patrons of Peace Blouse: c/o PB&J Boutique, White Tee: DownEast Basics, White Jeans: Old Navy, Silver Pumps: Target (similar), Bag: Kate Spade, Sunglasses: Target, Bracelets: Kohls, Ring: c/o InPink

Yes, those are white pants. Yes, it's after Labor Day.  Yes, I don't care.  I think some fashion "rules" are just silly, don't you?  Plus, I think the pretty navy blue paired with the white makes it work for Fall.

I love this blouse that my friends over at PB&J Boutique sent me.  It's awesome, because it has a tie-dye print, but doesn't look like I made it myself (or like I belong in the late 60s)!  They just started carrying this awesome brand called Patrons of Peace and I can't wait to see what other pieces they add to their shop!

And I just have to throw in a pic of this cute little guy...I've always thought the praying mantis was such a fun insect!

Sunday Style: Layer Me Up!

Happy Sunday friends!  As the weather slowly cools down, I'm starting to see more people piling on the layers and I LOVE IT!  Layers just make an outfit more fun, don't you think?  Here are some of my favorite layered looks from last weeks Sunday Style Link-up.

Clockwise from top-left:

I can't wait to see what you all have been wearing lately and get some outfit inspiration! As always, here are the rules:

2. Grab a button and add it to your post (a text link is also fine).
3. Try to comment on this post and someone else's post...the whole point is to visit each other.

Sometimes I like my coat to match my hair.

BB Dakota Coat: c/o Lulu's, Dress: Daisy Fuentes (Kohls), Boots: Franco Sarto (similar), Watch: Michael Kors, Tote: Rebecca Minkoff

Nothing says Fall like a cozy jacket.  I'm pretty much in love with this one from Lulus.com.  Let's face it, it's still a bit too warm to be wearing coats...but I figure if I start wearing them now, maybe Mother Nature will decide to send the cool Autumn air my way!  It's worth a shot, right?
