Manicure Monday: Chevron Tips Tutorial with Julep

Julep invited me to be a part of their Beauty Resolution Campaign, where I was supposed to show how complimentary colors can work well together.  The colors they sent me to play with were a dark red creme (Lucy) and a dark green creme (Diane).  I was pretty worried at first, because the colors were both so dark.  I wouldn't recommend trying the chevron tips with colors this dark, because it's a little hard to see the lines (except in direct light).

These two complementary colors really do go well together and would be a great option for a vampy Christmas manicure.  I don't think these colors could only be worn at Christmas though...they are deep enough that they could work together anytime in the Fall or Winter without looking too "Christmas-y".  If I wore the two of these together again I would probably just do an accent nail, or maybe some subtle polka dots.

Have you tried out the Julep Maven subscription yet?  I must say that I'm a huge fan of getting new nail polishes delivered to me each month! You can try out Julep Maven for only 1 penny by using the promo code JULEPVIP at checkout.  You can cancel at anytime, so I highly recommend trying it out!

Also, I just want to say THANK YOU to all of you who voted for my blog...I made it into the Top 25 Fashion and Beauty Mom Blogs on Circle of Moms!  It is such an honor to be on that list with so many other amazing women.  I couldn't have done it without your help!

  1. Oo love that red (and also the chevron, but the red distracted me!)!

  2. Ohhhh, good tip. I have tried to do it free hand. Fail and a tool I bought a drug store was just ridiculously not effective.

  3. I never thought to do the chevron with one big piece of tape- I always cut up 2 small pieces & formed a triangle. This is much easier!
