Manicure Monday: Layla Softouch and Magneffect

It's Monday, which means it's time to paint my nails!  Today I have two great nail polish colors to share with you from Layla Cosmetics.  The first one, shown above, is "05 Cherry Diva".  This is one of 12 colors in their Softouch Effect collection.  It's a sparkly red, with a touch of pink and gold mixed in.  The finish on this polish is interesting.  It isn't completely matte...I would say it is closest to a suede.  In the first picture I added topcoat to my ring finger so you could see the difference.  The formula on this one was great and was completely opaque in two coats.

The second polish is a magnetic polish, "14 Sparkling Champagne".  If you haven't tried a magnetic polish yet, you definitely should...it's pretty fun!  The only downside is that you need to paint one nail at a time, because the polish needs to be a little wet for the magnet to work its magic.  All you do is apply the polish to the nail, then hold the magnet over the nail and it will create a striped design.  I couldn't capture it in a photo, but when I would move my hands in the light, it reminded me of a "Tiger's Eye" gemstone.  You could probably get away with one coat, but the effect looks better with two coats.

You can find Layla nail polish at Ulta and Zappos.com.

Also, the winners of my One Year of Blogging Giveaway have been selected.  Congrats to all the winners!  And the winner of the Shabby Apple giveaway is...

  5. I love the Cherry Diva! How long would you say it stays on before chipping (I've never heard of the brand before)?
