Ah! I am so glad that I came across your post! I love glitter nail polish but dont wear it that often bc its soo hard to remove! But..now thanks to you!
I have been doing this trick for quite some time - I love it! I used to hate glitter nail polish because it was next to impossible to remove but this makes it so easy.
It's the best! Have you tried soaking the cotton ball and just letting it sit on your fingernail for a while? I hear that works too, but it seems like it might drip all over the place. The good thing about the foil method is that it keeps the liquid inside!
Thanks so much for sharing. That darn glitter is always such a pain! (but so pretty!) Please share this over at our Friday Block Party at Curb Alert! The party is open all weekend. Thanks, Tami @ Curb Alert! http://tamicurbalert.blogspot.com/2012/05/friday-block-party-5-feature-from-party.html
Great tips! I know I've definitely wasted too much cotton and remover to take those sticky little glitter bits off in days past. Thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog.
Great tip!! I just received my first jar of glitter polish from my daughter. I haven't tried it yet and didn't realize it would be hard to remove, but now I know AND I know how to remove it. Thanks for sharing..and thanks for visiting and following my blog.
I need to try this sooooo bad since I have been scraping glitter off of my 3 year old's toes! Thanks for linking up to last week's Friday Block Party. This weeks party link is live now. Hope you will join us again and link up! Tami @ Curb Alert! http://tamicurbalert.blogspot.com/2012/05/friday-block-party-6-feature-from-party.html
Wow, this is a perfect tutorial for a common beauty problem I never have been able to conquer. Thanks so much for sharing, I will surely be bookmarking this for future reference!
Seriously awesome and genius. I spent a few days ago trying to get glitter from nails after my niece painted my nails with 3 types of glitter polish. Thanks for the tip, and this is my first time to your blog.
This method totally works! But if you want an even easier way to get glitter nail polish off, I recently found peel off base coat from a brand here in Korea, where I'm currently living. It's so so good, been wearing different glitter manicures almost every day since! :)
I decided to offer it in my blog shop if you want to check it out, it's only $6.
Another good way is to make your nailpilish remover warm by running it under hot water. This activates all the ingredients wuxh makes it work better. This way is awesome too though!

Great idea.
ReplyDeleteOnyx is made for glitter removal, pure acetone. Comes off in seconds with this brand.
ReplyDeletePure acetone damages my nails, but if you have strong nails to start off with that sounds like a great option!
DeleteSo glad to have read this! I love the look but it's so hard to take off. Can't wait to try this!
ReplyDeleteGlitter polish is hard to remove. My hair dresser shared your tip with me and it does work. It also works well with the Sally Hansen nail shields.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. I love finding new blogs!
