Dress: c/o Stop Staring (buy here), Cardigan: Local boutique (similar), Bag: Big Buddha, Watch: Michael Kors, Sandals: Chinese Laundry c/o Lulu's
Day two of our Paris vacation started out with a visit to the Notre Dame cathedral. This was my favorite thing from our previous trip to Paris and I also loved seeing it a second time. It's amazing that people were able to build such a beautiful structure, with so many intricate details, way back in the 12th century.
And can we talk about this dress for a second? I'm pretty much obsessed with it and I think it's the perfect summer dress! It's from Stop Staring Clothing, which sells the most amazing pin-up and retro style dresses...they are seriously the best quality and have the perfect fit for all different sizes of women! I plan on doing another outfit post with this floral beauty soon, since I was so rushed during our trip and didn't have time to really capture it's true perfection!
Ok, on to our next stop: Montmartre! This neighborhood is located on a hill, which makes it the tallest point in the city. At the very top of the hill is the gorgeous Sacre Coeur (Sacred Heart Basilica). The area is filled with artists and it was fun to walk by their booths and see them working on their future pieces...some of the paintings were really impressive!
Next up was the Louvre Museum. It was originally built in the 12th century as a fortress, later turned into a palace, then in 1793 it was opened as a museum. This place is HUGE. There are over 35,000 pieces on display and there is no way you could see everything in a day. While the artwork was impressive, I couldn't help losing myself in the beautiful architecture and decor of the old buildings.
More pictures to come! Have you been to Paris? If so, what was your favorite part?
Beautiful photos! The cathedral is stunning :)

I love that dress! Paris looks beautiful! I imagine that if I ever have the opportunity to visit, I may never need to actually enter any of the buildings to experience beauty — the architecture is perfection!

My husband and I just returned from a week in Paris (The first time to visit for both of us.), and we LOVED it! We spent an entire day in Montmartre, and that may have been my favorite day of the trip b/c it's so quaint and non-commercial. We also thoroughly enjoyed touring Versailles. It's just so over the top. Definitely a must see it to believe it site.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read about the remainder of your trip. If you're interested in ours, I finished the recap posts earlier this week. Be sure to start at {Day 1} so that it makes sense :)
