Skirt: c/o Lulu*s, Flannel Top: Target (similar), Shoes: Charlotte Russe (old), Bracelets: Kohls |
Lately I have been trying to step outside of my fashion comfort zone and try new things. When I got this fun mustard yellow skirt from Lulus.com, I instinctively went to grab a plain black or white shirt. Then I saw this plaid flannel shirt in the back of my closet. Can flannel and pencil skirts go together? I'm not really sure, but I thought it looked fun and it certainly wasn't something I would usually wear. Fashion is all about taking risks, right? If it wasn't so dang hot outside, I probably would have added a navy colored crewneck sweater on top of the flannel, so that the pattern was just peeking out at the collar and sleeves, or maybe even a leather jacket. Yup, I'm pretty sure that will happen once it cools down...I might even add some cute tights! Oh, I can't wait for the real Fall weather to arrive!
So, what do you think? Was this outfit a little too crazy?
I love this!!! Especially with yellow and grey as your color palette. It makes the outfit look edgy and cool!
