Exploring California: Laguna Beach

On one of my recent trips I happened to have a long layover in Orange County, California.  Since it was a beautiful day, I decided to take the bus down to Laguna Beach.  The views were gorgeous and walking along the beach in the soft sand was so relaxing...I even spotted a whale and some dolphins out in the ocean!  Here are some pictures from my little adventure.

Lately, I've been trying hard to save up money...so I honestly haven't bought any clothes for at least a month.  It's actually been pretty fun trying to put together outfits with items in my closet that I haven't worn in a long time.  I found these red corduroy pants and was getting ready to throw them out, but instead I decided to see if I could use them to come up with a decent outfit.  The red pants were perfect for Valentine's Day, after all!

So, I went with a leopard cardigan and some simple black accessories to help tone down the rest of the outfit.  

Since most of the items in my outfit are no longer in stores...I created a similar look below, with items that are currently available!

What do you think?  Does anyone else still wear colored pants, or is that a trend that should be put to rest for good?
